Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Home visits will only be made to patients the doctors consider to ill or immobile to come to the surgery. A request for a home visit should be made before 10:00 to allow the reception team time to assist the doctors in deciding the degree of urgency.

It is safe to bring children with a temperature into the surgery- they will be seen to as quickly as possible and, if infectious, will be told where to wait.

Situations where visiting is not required:

  • Common symptoms of childhood (fever, cold, cough, earache, diarrhoea/vomiting)
  • Adults with common problems (cough, sore throat, flu, back pain)
  • Elderly adults with common problems (poor mobility, joint pain or general malaise)
